Fracture for the Xbox 360

Fracture for Xbox 360

Fracture for the Xbox 260 is a pretty solid game.Facing rising ocean levels the US develops “terrain deformation” technology to raise the ground levels on the coast, but wouldn’t you know it the rising oceans instead flood the central states, thus splitting the US into 2 land masses.

Pitting genetically altered Pacificans on the west Coast against the eastern coalition called the Atlantic Alliance which has chosen the path of cybernetic enhancements. The Atlantcis Alliance declares the Pacifican DNA alterations illegal and thus begins the game.

The 2 sides have different weaponry, and so you know who to shoot they also have different colored uniforms. Although early in game tutorial shows you how to raise the ground to defend your fellow Atlantic Alliance soldiers you’ll mostly be on your own, and when you are accompanied by friendlies you are by far the toughest SOB on your side hands down, almost rendering the others useless.

Generic Soldier: “Is it bad luck to tell you guys I’m getting out in 2 weeks?”

Of course then generic soldier steps around the next corner seconds later and Bang! Bang! So, yes, its bad luck to do that in a game when you are the generic guy.

The game play itself is rather smooth, but its details like a deeply-developed story, characters you care about and a better music score that set this game apart from games like Dead Space. Don’t get me wrong, its not a horrible game its just not a remarkable one aside from terrain deformation which makes for new puzzles and a slightly altered gameplay strategy.
