SPOILER WARNING: HALO: REACH WALKTHROUGH for the NEW ALEXANDRIA MISSION

Noble 6 [GameInformer.com link] watched as the slipspace rupture enveloped the Corvette and tore the nearby Supercarrier in half. Explosions pock marked the dying Covenant ship. Noble Six was taking a “gravity ride” back to the planet, no doubt thinking of the sacrifice Jorge made to insure the survival of mankind and to make sure that the Frigate Grafton wasn’t destroyed in vain. Six gained speed and finally impacted planet Reach.

No doubt some time passed before he regained consciousness, then scouted around a bit and found an M6 Magnum, cocked it and walked toward the sound of gunfire and explosions.

FAST FORWARD… Six punched the button on the central terminal to activate the anti-air batteries. Missiles reached out through the air racing toward the Covenant Corvette. Impacts in several places cause the now flaming Corvette to move off to safer places, and the civilian transport ships can now take off safely again.

Next Six finds himself in a brooding mood in the back of a Pelican which drops him off on a rooftop where Carter briefs him on his next mission flying a Falcon.

The Covenant have jammers throughout the New Alexandria. Follow the current objective marker to destroy the first jammer at the hospital. When you arrive at the hospital there is a Shae Turret to take out on the roof of the building to the southwest and take out any nearby Banshees. Then land and dismount. You’ll have a welcoming party of Grunts coming out the hospital door.

Enter the hospital and you will be greeted by purple-glowing all over body armored Grunts. So the first order of business is to find that Engineer. As you enter on the far side of the room (around to your left) is a pair of Armor Abilities, and a Health Pack. Besides the Grunts, you can hear some Jackals, so be prepared.

If you grabbed the Holographic Decoy Armor Ability you can creep over toward the staircase and send your hologram down the stairs and watch where the shots come from. Take out a couple of the Jackals from the top floor. After I did that I took a couple out at closer range with melee attacks. There are some Grunts down here, too. They also tasted my rifle stock.

There are some frag grenades and more Armor Abilties on this level if you want to switch. Creeping around here level by myself I can hear Jackals and Brutes, supposedly on the next level down. Time to scout them out. Ah, I see two or three Jackals on the next level down. Two fall to my DMR and I hear more. Two come up the stairs after me, one at a time, making easy pickings. About 3 shots with the DMR, one to make the move their shield, and one or two to finish them off. Now I again stand at the top of the stairs and send my holographic double down – no shots fired. The next level is empty.

So the Brutes I heard must be on the next level down. I move around toward the staircase and send the holograph down and watch the weapons fire. Standing up back from the railing I fire off a DMR round and drop a Grunt, another drops the next one. But now they are running around. 4 more shots drop the next 2 Grunts.

Moving back toward an outcropping I look down below on the next level. A Brute moves past and I fire the DMR at him, one-two-three, his helmet pops off and he ducks behind a column. I toss a farg down as a Grunt approaches and move backward out of site away from the railing. I wait a moment them move forward and see the Grunt, and switch to the Assault rifle and finish him, then the Brute comes out, so another tap of the Y button follow by RT and a DMR round finishes him off square in the head.

Its quiet now, thunder peels outside. I peer around toward the staircase again and don’t see or hear anything. I step up onto Noble Six heads out [image by bungie.net]the railing aiming toward the center of the next floor level down and hit LB, sending my holographic double running across the railing then across the floor below. No shots. I’m alone, so its time to move down. Two more Grunts amble into the room as I reach the bottom of the stairs and three DMR rounds reach out and they fall moments apart.

I move across the room and around the bend. I’m standing at the entryway to another room, so I aim at a distant door and send the holographic “radar” again. He reaches the designated spot running up against the door. Moments later Covenant fire reaches out and he disappears. I wait for the recharge and send him out one more time as a decoy and when I hear them firing I move out into the room and start firing. One brute falls to DMR fire at distance, then another, then I hear the characteristic sound of a plasma round sticking and whining as its about to detonate. I fly up into the air…. thank goodness for respawn.

After level reload I am back to almost where I was moments ago. Its almost like Prince of Persia Sands of Time and I’ve rewinded and now I get to shoot the Brute that killed me moments before, and the one next to him. Two more fall at the distance to my DMR. 20 rounds left…. hmmm there was a DMR back upstairs, time to reload.

Moving toward the jammer I see an engineer and take it out, so now the covies guarding the jammer are without the added shield. Moving forward I take the last one out. DMRs, frags, a Magnum pistol and other weapons litter the floor. 3 ODST’s join me near the jammer. I grab one of the two Jet Packs from behind it then push the button on jammer to detonate it. On the way out 3 Elites with Jet Packs attack. Moving on out into the next room into the lobby at the bottom of the stairs. I see  two Elites in special armor (Elite  Specialist or Hero??) and at least one Skirmisher is heard. One Elite is taken out by the four of us. The I switch my Assault Rifle for his Concussion Rifle and take the other one out, take a running jump and fly up and over the Skirmisher, shooting him from the air… DFA!

The ODST’s say they can hold their own here and we part ways. The trip back upstairs is uneventful, and I get back into the cockpit of the Falcon.
