Customize Your Gmail Theme with your own custom background
As I hoped for in an earlier Gmail Themes post, Google has just announced today that you can now invent your own fully customized theme by choosing not only colors but using your own background image.
So get your Photoshop and camera and get your artwork designed and create your own theme in Gmail. Have any interesting custom Gmail themes? Add links in a comment below. Yes, comments are fully moderated.

How? In Gmail go into Mail Settings > Themes and click Create your own theme.
