Second Chance Walkthrough: Crysis 2, Mission 2
SPOILER WARNING: CRYSIS 2: WALKTHROUGH for SECOND CHANCE
In at the Deep End: Mission 1
I’m not going to write a separate walkthrough for the In at the Deep End mission, so here it is. The mission begins in a submarine that gets attacked moments into the game. FIND YOUR WAY OUT OF THE SUBMARINE: Basically just follow the other marines, crouch when the game is tutoring you to do so, If you fall behind after you begin swimming out, look for bubbles rushing out of the side of the submarine, then once you are out of the sub swim upwards. The rest is in-game video, sit back and enjoy.

Second Chance: Mission 2
Alcatraz regains consciousness at the beginning and you see flashbacks of your memory mixed with Prophet’s memory – the suit’s biological nature has passed on bits of his memory to you, and you will see more as the game progresses.
After the video you are standing with an empty pistol in front of Prophet’s lifeless body – EXIT THE BUILDING and FIND AMMO. The game marker and objectives tell you to find Locate and Protect Dr. Gould, but you need to start out with ammo, or you’ll fail. There are some interesting bits on the way out that reveal more of the story for you if you want to go slowly and discover them, but otherwise you are exiting a building and discovering some of the nanosuit’s capabilities and controls.
So, break the padlock, enter the next room. Pass through that room entering the room after. If you want, there is a computer you can use and listen to the audio playback on it. As you continue you’ll go up the stairs and follow the walkway, jump over the hole in the floor and enter another room at the end of the hallway. In this next room be sure to look upward also. At the far end of the room and off to the right you will need to jump up onto the ledge.
Now, exit the door and you will get schooled on how to use the nanosuit’s visor. Pay close attention as the visor can be a game-changer. Watch the video as the suit shows off its unique ability to gather tactical data and display it on your screen. The cool thing about the visor is that its useful not only at the beginning of new missions and sections of the field, but also as great high powered binoculars. Whenever you need to see off in the distance use the visor’s zoom (left trigger).
Now that the video has ended its time to get down onto the ground, collect your ammo, and dispatch the 2 CELL soldiers (operatives). The next options are to either survey your surroundings or move on to the Castle Clinton by following the objective marker. If you follow the marker you’ll enter the castle and when you move into the second room the nanosuit will take over to introduce you the stealth meter and cloaking for invisibility. After that, you have 3 CELL soldiers to deal with. There’s a surprise on one of the tables in the center of the castle in the open area.
After you’ve taken care of the soldiers you are prompted to exit the castle via the roof. Look for the objective marker and exit by jumping up on the container by the wall. As you make your way from the inner wall to the outer wall Humvee and 3 CELL soldiers are nearby. You can bypass or dispatch these guys, but its probably better not to have them behind you. You can follow 2 of them inside the castle, if you stay at a distance. You are not totally invisible and these guys seem to get spooked easily and notice you when you are too close when cloaked.
After you dispatch these 3 you have to move north through the camp, there are roving patrols and there is one lookout on a raised tower. Make your way through the camp, and it seems to be a good idea to only make a hit or two a the same spot before you arouse enough suspicion to be dangerous. So after a hit or two in one area, then of course recharging your energy for the cloak in a safe spot, move on to another area in the camp. You can continue doing this until you’ve taken care of all of the enemies, or you can thin their ranks and move into the decon tents. To get to the decon tents follow the objective marker to a doorway and once you punch the keypad there will be an error in the system and you will be re-routed to another part of the camp to exit. There you will enter the decon tents. You will run into exactly 2 CELL operatives in their and the suit will school you on stealth kills. Continue on and there will be another error and you will need to pry the exit doors open.
After you pry the doors open you’re in a new section, so of course its time for your visor. Survey the area. There are three Tactical Options, as will usually be the norm throughout Crysis 2. Head on up the street when you are ready. Following the objective marker you will see two stores on the left once you’ve made it to the far end of the street.
As you walk through the Drug Store you will enter an alleyway where you’ll have to climb a wall to get into the next section. The nanosuit will take over and introduce you to its armor mode. Prepare for action! Take out the CELL in this area and make your way forward toward the opposite end. Once you are up the stairs go right then toward a dead end following the objective marker, the jump up. You will now be overlooking the next area. Stay out of sight and use the visor to survey the next area. Make sure you locate all of the CELL soldiers in this area to avoid nasty surprises. There were about 6 of them.
Of particular interest are tactical options for grenades in front of your position, and infiltrate off to the far left. Drop down to the diner roof while cloaked and get your grenades. Then recharge your energy and begin moving off to the left toward the infiltrate Tactical Option marker. It might take a couple of stops along the way in safely hidden spots to recharge the suit’s energy so you can proceed cloaked. Once you get near the infiltrate Tactical Option you’ll see open grates above a sewer pipe, just drop right down into it and this is a great time to recharge the suit again.
You will come up on the other side of the wall, which is manned by CELL. Hopefully you did a good job of finding the CELL soldiers in the previous section including the one of top of the wall who is now behind you. You can fight these guys or move on. If you choose to move on, try moving off to the left where you can hide behind the building’s columns to recharge suit energy for you cloak. you should be able to make it all the way down the subway entrance without being seen. If not, and before you run out of suit energy, take at least one CELL soldier by surprise and position yourself so another is just past him in your line of fire. Take out the first, then the second and hide while the suit recharges and the enemy begins closing in. Keep in mind each place you engage and the CELL operative soldiers spot you, they will move to that area. That allows you to move to an are where you DON’T want them patrolling, like around the corner from the subway entrance, and take out a couple of guys there. When they’ve started looking for you there, recharge and head into the subway.
Down into the subway you’ll have to lift a gate to move through, then following the objective marker at the opposite end you’ll open another gate only to see a CELL soldier operative taken out by Ceph bugs (Ceph Ticks) …
Its a nest, get out of there, Prophet
After the little creatures kill the CELL soldier, Gould tells you to get out of there. What he really means is, “Its a nest, Prophet! Those little Ceph Ticks can’t hurt you, so walk through them and follow your objective marker which will lead you up through a hole in the ceiling to the next floor.” Once you are up to the next floor, you’ll move around the corner and run into a stairwell. Going up the stairs you’ll run into Mission 3: SUDDEN IMPACT.
