SPOILER WARNING: CRYSIS 2: WALKTHROUGH for SUDDEN IMPACT (Part 1)

Sudden Impact Walkthrough: Crysis 2, Mission 3

This mission starts off with Alcatraz standing alone in a building. Use the visor and you’ll find a Marshall shotgun nearby, if you want it. As you move you by the entrance into the next room, you hear a battle raging outside the building as a Ceph ship is being chased by 2 helicopters whose missiles you can see fly by the windows across the room. The missiles strike a walkway leading to an adjacent building. Move toward the objective marker and it will take you through that walkway .. but wait, there’s a sound. The movie breaks in an Alcatraz faces the noise of battle and sees a Ceph ship flying right for the walkway. It crashes through the walkway destroying it and you fall to the ground. As you get to your feet 2 helicopters are in pursuit of the ship, miniguns blazing.

Moments later the nanosuit picks up a radio transmission from the helicopter, “Missiles away,” followed by an explosion and the Ceph ship crashing into and through a distant skyscraper. It crashes a block or two away and Gould tells you to get there to collect tissue samples. Your objective marker rests on the entrance to a 24 Hr Parking Garage.

Move into the entrance and open the gate. You’ll hear a CELL patrol up at the next level, so while you make your way up turn on the cloak. Once you round the corner go left and into the fenced area. A CELL soldier hopes the fence at the far end and turns his back to you. And he’s standing next to an explosive barrel. Stay behind the boxes out of site of the other CELL soldier (there are actually 2 others nearby) and shoot the barrel, taking out the guy in front of you, Wait for the cell to recharge. You can wait behind the boxes and one of the other 2 soldiers approaches to check his fallen comrade. Open up on him while you are cloaked, and move back behind the boxes and recharge again. The other CELL operative(soldier) will do the same. He comes over and checks out the fallen soldier, take him out.

TIP: Recharge your energy often when the opportunity presents itself. this way you can move around unseen more easily. Take note of good areas to retreat to and recharge when the action gets hot, or patrols come looking for you.

At this point I moved forward and hopped over the fence and was about to turn left when a CELL soldier opened up on me from behind a car. I quickly put cloak on, and moved to the side and took him out from his flank while he was still firing where I used to be standing. Feeling pretty bright, I outsmarted myself because a CELL soldier from across the garage started firing at me. I started moving for position, taking a couple of shots as I went. Seconds later a car rolled down from the upper level and took him out, but his buddy opened up on my. I went left and crouched behind some car. My energy had drained by this time so I waited until it recharged, popped my head up and fired a couple of shots, then cloaked and moved forward crouching behind another car, a little closer to the CELL guy. Waiting a moment I stood up and took him out.

I backtracked to the area where that fence was, and saw a partially open gate I could crouch under, this is where one of the CELL ops was trying to get something from a vending machine before I took care of him. If you decide to go into this room (there’s nothing of value there) on your way back out the suit will tell you about the tactical value of sliding.

Move back to where you took out that last soldier near the barricades where the car rolled down, and cloak before you walk around the corner. There’s a solider up at the next level behind an orange barricade and he’ll come out and stand in front of it. I stopped about half way up since he seemed to be looking right at me. Remember in Predator when one of the guys first sees the invisible Predator and just stares at him, not moving? He knew that if he took his eyes off of the creature he might lose track of him again. He knew that would be bad news. Well its the same with these guys. They’ll sometimes stop and seem to stare at you even though you are cloaked. Shoot him.

Now wait for the suit to recharge, and approach the next level of the parking garage and turn the cloak on, and round the corner. A quick scan with the visor showed no more soldiers. Moving forward through this level there is an exit at the far right end, and when you walk out you can hear radio chatter. As you walk forward then around to the right you come to a stairway leading up and down. there’s a green highlighted Scarab, its a Stealth Scarab with a silencer, switch it out for your regular Scarab. Remember Crysis treats them with some realism, so they have less stopping power and range. On the plus side you get a little bit longer after firing before you lose your cloak. Walk up the stairway with cloak on, and once at the top scan the street below with the visor. Find all of the soldiers you can including up the far SE end of the street (see mini map for compass).

Make your way down to the parking area below and move to the edge to do some more scanning. You’ll have to stop and recharge energy a couple of times during this process so you don’t end up standing out in the open with no cloak. After a good scan of the layout below and of the CELL patrol areas, make your way back up to the stairwell, and then down the stairs to street level. If you take long enough the CELL patrols will be scattered all around and one guy will come back to the area behind the bus where his fellow CELL ops can’t see him. Move around behind and making sure you and he can’t be seen do a stealth kill, then after your cloak re-engages make you way into the storm drain pipe and safely recharge completely and you are also making sure if anyone discovers his body you are not nearby.
