Why is Windows 7 Sleeping? I Turned Sleep Off!

DISCLAIMER: I’m complaining about a computer I’ve owned for less than 48 hours … I still have a lot to learn, tweak and “get to know” about it.
Why is my Windows 7 Computer sleeping, I set it to NEVER sleep?
I just bought a new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium and I’m disappointed about a few things, especially considering I opted NOT to buy a bargain-priced PC but to invest in my budding business. I decided there were 3 or 4 important things my computer must do, and went out and bought a computer that wasn’t extravagantly priced but did what I needed. I was pleased to find that Alienware had such a PC at Best Buy!
I promptly got setup after finding out that the “Important Information – 512e Hard Drive” warning, an Orange pamphlet with entirely too little useful information, did not apply to me – but I diverge. After getting set up I installed anti-virus, and a video capture program which was one of the things that made me realize my old “prize computer” which is about 4 years old wasn’t doing everything I needed, and after I re-evaluated it wasn’t doing some of the things I wanted it to do either.

Huawei Mercury, Change Battery or MicroSD

Well, here we are with another Huawei smartphone, the Huawei Mercury. Last week I did a video on how to open the back cover of the Huawei Ascend II. If you are interested, I believe Huawei is pronounced “wah-way” or “hwa-way”. If you know which pronunciation is right for sure, please comment.
I think the engineers at Huawei are either trying to protect the MicroSD in their smartphones or maybe they just have a really good sense of humor. At any rate, the back of your Huawei Mercury has a little sticker on the back, and if you feel like staring at it to figure out what it means you’ll see that the phone’s back comes of by prying open the plastic case by pulling down on a small notch below the Home button, while holding up on the case by the camera lens near the top.
But if you are on the Internet and you found this, you either gave up on the sticker or didn’t see it. In any case its almost useless anyway and the user guide isn’t too much help either. Here’s avideo I hope is useful.

Review: Philips SHE2650 Extra Bass Stereo Earbuds

I grabbed some Phillips SHE2650 Extra Bass Stereo Earbuds from a local pharmacy today and paid about $15 with tax. You can get them cheaper online, and you will, of course, have to wait for shipping. Since I bought my Android phone recently, I’ve been looking for earbuds recently and actually bought a pair of “Premium Quality Earbuds” and returned them the very next day. However, I like these Philips earbuds.
SHE2650 Review
These stereo earbuds are good quality and have good sound, but I’m not so sure they stack up against their more expensive counterparts, belonging in the $5 to $10 price range (online) and competing well there. They do need to be “aimed” down the ear canal for best sound since they will move around and you will not get the best sound unless you adjust them properly. Movement will result in a shifting of the earbuds since they don’t go into the ear canal itself but rest at its outer edge, which actually aids in comfort. So, every now and then you will have to re-align them.
If you’ve got a budget these earbuds are not a bad buy, but they will not out-perform their more expensive (and more newly designed) cousins from Philips.

Newbie Android Phone Tips for Beginners 1

Its worth noting that I use a Huawei Ascend II running Android™ Gingerbread 2.3 OS, so not all of these tips will apply if you are not.

Consider an Extra Battery & Chargers
You’ll need one sooner or later, why not have a battery for work and home? Have a charger for your car, home and work. Either way you can charge your battery or replace it if it starts to die.

Huawei Ascend II: How Do I Upgrade or Change SD Card?

If you have the Huawei Ascend II android phone, you might need to remove the back to change a battery or remove or upgrade the microSD card. Regardless, you will need to know how to access the SD mini card to remove it.
The Huawei Acsend II comes with a 4GB microSD card, and 3GB are dedicated to music. Keep in mind whatever microSD you use you will lose those 3GB for music and a small amount of space will be used by the Android OS, as with any operating system.
NOTE: If you buy a new Huawei Ascend II it will come with a 4GB SDMicro that is hard-wired to give you 1GB of storage and save the other 3GB for music. If you put your own MicroSD card in that is not made by/for this phone, you will get the entire space minus a small amount for the Android OS.
