Battlefield 3/BF3 What Button?
BF3 WHAT BUTTON TO SPOT/COMMUNICATE?
While aiming at an enemy (LT) you press (not hold) the Scoreboard (BACK) button. The Squad Leader can use Spot/Communicate to set objectives.
BATTLEFIELD 3 WHAT BUTTON TO OPEN A PARACHUTE?
Press A while falling high enough for a parachute to open. If you do this from the second story of a building you won’t get a parachute, but you WILL be prompted with A Parachute when you land. Weird.

IGN’s Flight Control page has a great page with screenshots for Xbox, PS and PC along with descriptions of yaw, pitch and other great info. This is one of the best I’ve seen, and saves you the trouble of going into your settings. Click the images for a larger view of the setup.
I STILL CAN’T FIND A BUTTON I NEED
If you still don’t find the button you need:

- SELF HELP: from BF3′s main menu go to Options > Controls (the first tab after clicking Options). Scroll down to the related control “platform“. If you need to know something about helicopter buttons scroll down and check Heli Buttons and Heli Sticks. If your question is about soldier controls then check Soldier Buttons and Soldier Sticks. Simply look to the right at the Xbox 360 controller for your answer. You can view AND change control options from here.
Also, you can go into Options > Controler
