- Red Rings of Death fixed
- Fewer crashes
- Get rid of “Always on Connection”
- Hope we can freely play Used Games
I got an email from Gamestop that says the following on these Xbox One subjects…
Update (Always on Connection): “An Internet Connection Will Not Be Required to Play Offline Xbox One Games: After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.
Update (Used Games): “Trade-In, Lend, Resell, Gift and Rents Disc Based Games Just Like You Do Today: There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.”
On this subject all I can say is that similar to a feature in Microsoft Internet Explorer a couple of versions back, Microsoft has changed their mind, and that’s a good thing. In addition, thank you Sony! According to that previous link to a Mashable.com post, during last week’s E3 convention, “The audience at Sony’s E3 presentation erupted in cheers after hearing the PlayStation 4 would allow used games and not require a daily authentication check to Microsoft’s servers to function.”
