Battlefield 3 vs Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Feb 6th
After my first night online in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 I would have said Battlefield 3 was the winner hands down. However, after playing more I am not so sure I can so quickly judge. I will look more in-depth at comparing their campaign modes with one another, an their multiplayer modes as well, then a summary and finally an official choice.
I realize I haven’t posted anything very informative yet, but if you find this post before I do the comparison, feel free to leave a comment about your opinion of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 vs Battlefield 3.
What is the underslung grenade launcher in Battlefield 3?
Jan 26th
Assignment (Assault Class): Professional Russian – 20 kills with Underslung Grenade Launcher
How do I use, find equip or arm the underslung grenade launcher? First off, there is no weapon called the underslung
grenade launcher. You need to unlock the M320 grenade launcher, so you may have already used it and didn’t realize it. After you unlock the M320 select an assault rifle like the AEK-971, equip underslung rail, make sure your gadget 1 position is the M320 grenade launcher.
UPDATE FROM BF3 WIKIA’S M320 PAGE:
The M320 is an Assault gadget in Battlefield 3′s multiplayer. The M320 is an underbarrel attachment when the assault rifle’s second slot is left empty (on the ‘Underslung Rail’ option), but is a standalone weapon when the second slot on the assault rifle is filled.
The grenade launcher occupies the Gadget 1 slot, which is shared with the Medkit.
To unlock the M320 you need an Assault score of 11,000. What’s an assault score, you ask? Whether you play as Assault, Engineer, Support or Recon – you earn points for that class as you play. So that means you play Assault class until you reach 11,000 points.
How do you check your points for Assault class? The easiest way I can think of to check your points by class is to go to http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/ and click the Solider Stats link, the look down the right hand sidebar for your number of points in Assault.
Battlefield 3 Weapon Focus: M16A3 & M16A4
Jan 24th
You would think the M16A4 would be more advanced than the M16A3 due to it being the newer version, and in real life this is likely the case. In Battlefield 3, the 2 weapons are almost identical
except for their fire modes (see below). Although the Wikia page for the M16 mentions that the M16A3 has a slightly faster empty reload time , the statistics listed under each variant are exactly the same - 1.80 loaded and 2.37 empty.
M16A3 Fire Modes: Semi Automatic/Automatic
M16A4 Fire Modes: Semi Automatic/3 Round Burst
After using the M16A3 and getting used to pelting enemies with automatic fire it took some getting used to 3 round burst mode.
Battlefield 3 Multiplayer Tips
Jan 24th
Battlefield 3 Multiplayer tips of various levels from basic to more advanced.
Set traps – When you have C4, or even better if you have Claymore mines.
Place your trap in a place that has only 1 or 2 ways to get to you, and try to cover the entry. Then get irritating – shoot a bunch of enemies up (even if you miss) or even just fire around a lot until you draw attention. When someone comes, set off your C4 (you have to be able to monitor someone’s approach) or if you used a Claymore, its set-it-and-forget-it. Just wait to hear the BOOM.
Set a different trap (the “Lure”) – Get REAL annoying by setting up a mortar and shelling the enemy. If they know what they are doing, they’ll come after you. If your team knows what they are doing, they will cover entryways to your position and shoot the “fish in the barrel” as they approach. Get ready though, you will get killed because after enough time they will probably get through. You could also use the MAV, a loud weapon, or anything that would grate on your enemies’ nerves to set a trap.
You can also find a place where some of your teammates have holed up and maybe even camped, and lure enemy soldiers into their sights.
Be ready at all times – When you are running around, when you are sniping (in the scope), when you are sitting still in that dark building where you can’t be seen, wherever you are you should be ready to start shooting at a second’s notices. First and foremost that means always reloading after you have fired your weapon, especially if you get close to empty. If your assault rifle is down to 5 bullets, you definitely need to be looking at where you can safely reload. If you have an M249 you might reload when you are in a “safe place” when you get down to 20-50 rounds (personal choice, of course).
So now you are in the habit (hopefully) of staying reloaded, now you need to be ready when an enemy soldier surprises you by appearing “out of nowhere” right in front of you. Right away you have to be aiming and firing (or firing then aiming, depending upon the situation). That means being ready to fire immediately when you run into someone face-to-face at short distance or when someone runs right in front of where you happen to be sitting/standing/camping.

Battlefield 3 Collected In Game Tips
Jan 22nd
These are Battlefield 3 tips I’ve quickly typed out as I saw them on the screen waiting for Multiplayer, and Co-Op matches and Campaign games to start.
Some will contain typos and synonyms and may later be revised. If you see one that’s worded wrong just drop a comment below and I’ll see about getting it squared away.
Hey, help me keep these in-game tips correct, leave a comment if you see anything wrong.
- Vehicles with weapons like IFV’s and helicopter rockets can be reloaded manually

- A fully experienced squad will choose different classes
- Suppressors use low velocity round, using a suppressor will increase bullet drop
- Handguns are the quickest weapons to deploy, much quicker than reloading your primary weapon
- Weapons are more accurate firing in short bursts
- You get points for kill assist equal to the amount of damage you did on an enemy someone on your team killed
- Killing an enemy that recently killed one on your teammates will give you an Avenger Bonus
- The Repair tool can be used not only to fix friendly vehicles but to damage enemy vehicles
- Advanced dog tags (right) are hard to earn and some allow you to show off your status
