Search Google from Gmail
May 4th
Now you can search Google right from the Gmail webmail interface without leaving or otherwise opening
another tab or window. The new window opens like a chat or tasks window docked to the lower right your screen with a few results. You can email your results or cut-n-paste right into your chat window if you are chatting with someone.
I’ll have to check this out and see how cool and helpful it is, only time will tell. anyone else have an opinion? Leave a comment and let everyone know what you think.
Gmail extends emoticons with Emoji
May 4th
Gmail has added Extra emoticons called “Extra Emoji” in your labs panel. According to CNet News:
When flipped on it adds an additional 1,200 or so to Gmail’s emotion selector tool. New categories include things like national flags, more animals, road signs, and animations.

According to Gmail:
All of these extra emoticons are straight from the secret underground labs of some of the top Japanese mobile carriers, used with permission.

The TIFF viewer shows all pages in the case of multi pages faxes sent/received as TIFF, and you open as PDF so you can print it, and I guess you could also save it as a PDF (I’ll ahve to try that).
POWERPOINT
New features include “View as Slideshow”, zooming in/out, selection/copy/pasting text, print to PDF, and you no longer need to have the Flash plugin installed.

Gmail Does it Again – Suggest More Recipients
Apr 19th
I use one of my Gmail accounts for church, family and work. Now when I send an email, thanks to Gmail’s new Suggest More Recipients feature I’ll get a reminder in case there are other people in one of those group I normally email. Even in my work only Gmail account (yes, I have 2 Gmail accounts) I have at least 2 groups of people I normally email, so I can’t wait to see how this new feature helps out!
Sender Time Zone – New Feature in Gmail labs
Apr 10th
Also new in Gmail labs Sender time zone… pretty cool?
One of the great things I love about Gmail updates, additions and improvements is that you don’t have to download them! Many you simply activate through Gmail Labs.
So, is this new feature cool? Well, yes. I might actually never use it, but it is cool and active in my personal Gmail account. So now, if I get an email about someone who just graduated and says they can catapult my rating in Google from the comfort of their home and include the person includes contact information I can wait until after they should be sleeping and call and tell them I don’t require his services.
What? You’ve never gotten an email like that? Oh, me neither since I use Gmail!!
Finally – Inserting Images into Gmail Messages!
Apr 10th
Usually when Gmail introduces a new feature I’m thinking that I’d never thought of that, how cool. However, with Inserting images in Gmail I’m wondering how the heck I overlooked it… oh yeah, I didn’t. I just got used to it. Inserting images into Gmail is one of those things that should have been rolled out a long time ago.
