Long Night of Solace Walkthrough (Part 2) – Spoiler Warning
Aug 9th
SPOILER WARNING: HALO: REACH WALKTHROUGH for LONG NIGHT of SOLACE
You are Noble 6, the newest member of Noble Team replacing one of their Spartans who died in battle (“Spartans never die, Jorge. They’re just Missing in Action”). Your arrival doesn’t go without notice as you immediately become the subject of discussion – specifically the ONI-edited account of your classified, and somewhat mysterious previous assignment. Moments later as you deploy with the Team Noble, Commander Carter (team leader) makes it clear that while your skills are a welcome addition, your lone wolf antics are not. Team Noble mounts up in Falcons and you are up and away and the mission (and the game) begin.
Wake up John…

HALO 4 IS ON THE MARCH
Master Chief returns …. are you ready for Halo 4 (release Holiday 2012)? Halo 4 is developed by 343 Industries (343? As in 343 Guilty Spark?).
HALO FREAK NOTE: Halo CE stands for Halo Combat Evolved, the first Halo video game.

Who is 343 Industries?
First, a little more about 343 Industries’ name. 343 Industries is part of Microsoft Studios. According to 343 Industries’ creative director Josh Holmes, they are “the caretakers for the Halo franchise moving forward.”
More from Joystiq.com:
As for the 343 Industries name, Ross mentions the obvious connection to everyone’s favorite Forerunner AI, 343 Guilty Spark, but adds that it may be more fully explained in the future. O’Connor expands further, noting that the answer to the mystery behind 343 will “make itself evident in a few years.” Our best guess: “Because it sounds cool.”
ONI: Sword Base Tips – Tricks – Halo Reach
Dec 11th
TIP: GET A REVENANT & A WARTHOG PAST THE DENVER BARRIERS IN THE BUNKER AFTER ENTERING THE DOOR TO SWORD BASE
Usually I prefer to write longer posts about video gamer, but here’s one hint I couldn’t pass up posting! Being able to get a Revenant and a Warthog (especially the Warthog with the Guass gun) past the denver barriers is great, an write-worthy!
REQUIREMENTS: Your Warthog and one of the Revenants must be driveable.
During Objective: Return To Base when you return to ONI Sword Base the Covenant have found another way in . When you arrive you have to open the doors (you’ll see the ACTIVATE button to the left of the doors) and go through the other side — but you can’t get your vehicle past the denver barriers. Or your not supposed to anyway, but here’s you can.
Open the doors and put the Warthog in the opening (the doors will still shut but that’s fine) and jump out and go back to your Revenant. Approach the doors and stop right behind the Warthog, which is now on the closed doors which have closed. Jump out and hit ACTIVATE again, get back in the Revenant and when the doors open the Warthog will fall into the opening in front of you, move forward pushing it into the “bunker” area past the doors.
TIP 2: USE REVENANT AND/OR WARTHOG TO KILL COVENANT FORCES THIS SIDE OF THE BASE
You can use either vehicle to kill as many Covenant forces as possible.Position the vehicle right up against the
barrier and you can shoot Covenant that notice you and charge your position, and even those who stay a distance off behind the barriers. Take your time. Note you’ll also find Sprint and Armor Lock Armor Abilities; some DMRs and a Sniper Rifle, and a health pack here.
TIP 3: GET THE REVENANT OVER THE DENVER BARRIERS
Now hop into the Warthog and park it right up against a denver barrier (I had the front of the vehicle facing the barrier), get into the Revenant and drive up onto the Warthog, this can be tricky. I had to jump out, and get into the Warthog again while the Revenant was on top and drive the Warthog right up against the barrier again. Now jump out and get back into the Revenant one last time, hit Boost (Left Trigger) and if you are positioned correctly you will drive over the barriers.
TIP 4: GET THE WARTHOG OVER THE DENVER BARRIERS
Hop in the Warthog and position it so you can easily shoot the denver barrier on the left side of the bunker. Blast the upper left corner of the leftmost barrier off (not sure this is required or not). You will only be able to blast part of the corner off.
Now back up as far as you can and make a run for the leftmost barrier. As you look up the incline from within the bunker you’ll see a dark embankment you can hop onto on foot. It runs up the entire incline and becomes part of the base. Right here, though, it ends at an angle near the entrance where you will be driving out, trying to go OVER the barrier.
Now, make your run for the barrier but aim off to the left where that dark angled part is to the left of the denver barrier, and if you hit it right you’ll go right over the denver barrier!
TIP 5: FINISH OFF THE COVENANT FORCES AS YOU ENTER THE BASE
Finish off the Covenant in the base, but watch out. As you drive up the first incline after passing the denver barriers and you reach the top, you’ll see there is some action past the entrance to an underground bunker — Hunter action! The Hunters aren’t alone but they are your stiffest resistance.
You have the Revenant, the Guass on the Warthog and, in my case, a (M41SSR MAV/AW) Rocket Launcher. I opted to blast the first Hunter with the Rocket Launcher, and the second one with the Revenant – have fun and make the choice that’s the most thrill-packed for you!
NOTE OF INTEREST: You can manage to get the Warthog part way into the elevator, push the button to go up and back up… the doors will shut but the Warthog will sink through the floor. When you exit the elevator you also may not have Kat with you. When you engage the Covenant here in battle, as usual, at some point when you are not looking she will appear behind you and join the battle.

Halo Reach – The Package Walkthrough – Spoiler Warning
Oct 3rd
SPOILER WARNING: HALO: REACH WALKTHROUGH for THE PACKAGE
Noble Six lands the Falcon on the extended landing pad. Rejoining Team Noble, Kat is again getting reprimanded for accessing comms she shouldn’t be listening to. As Carter tells her to focus on her work she informs him there’s more shrapnel than transceiver left in the radio.
As she works on it, a voice crackles to life and she hands off the headset to Carter, informing him that the communication is coming over an open (unencrypted) channel. Noble Team is assigned to a priority one Torch-N-Burn mission at Halsey’s installation to protect info that must not fall into the Covenant’s hands.
As the mission starts Noble Six is checking out the outside noting that the number of enemies needs to be thinned out. He has been put in charge of a squad of marines, and they move in quietly toward some Covenant at the position in front of them. Shade Turrets, a Ghost and many Grunts can be seen. The building in the water ahead has some Armor Abilities and a nice Focus Rifle.

Halo Reach – New Alexandria Walkthrough Part 2 – Spoiler Warning
Oct 2nd
SPOILER WARNING: HALO: REACH WALKTHROUGH for the NEW ALEXANDRIA MISSION Part 2
As the battle continued, Noble Six sprinted past stairs the that lead up to the elevator toward a stairwell off to his left side as he eyed up the elevator entrance guarded by three Covenant. He and the ODSTs had thinned out their numbers greatly, and now only three denied the civilians a safe evacuation. He noticed the Skirmisher was hanging back a bit getting in shots as he could without exposing himself too much, but rushing forward like a bloodthirsty animal when he had the upper hand. The Brutes were running around shooting anything that was close enough, possibly realizing their attack had turned into a defense – or maybe they didn’t realize that yet. They ducked into cover only when they were hurt badly – as one of them had just done as a pair of ODSTs lit him up with Assault Rifle slugs. The Brute was probably close to dead, and definitely in need of medical attention. That was good for Six, bad for the Brute.

SPOILER WARNING: HALO: REACH WALKTHROUGH for the NEW ALEXANDRIA MISSION
Noble 6 [GameInformer.com link] watched as the slipspace rupture enveloped the Corvette and tore the nearby Supercarrier in half. Explosions pock marked the dying Covenant ship. Noble Six was taking a “gravity ride” back to the planet, no doubt thinking of the sacrifice Jorge made to insure the survival of mankind and to make sure that the Frigate Grafton wasn’t destroyed in vain. Six gained speed and finally impacted planet Reach.
No doubt some time passed before he regained consciousness, then scouted around a bit and found an M6 Magnum, cocked it and walked toward the sound of gunfire and explosions.
FAST FORWARD… Six punched the button on the central terminal to activate the anti-air batteries. Missiles reached out through the air racing toward the Covenant Corvette. Impacts in several places cause the now flaming Corvette to move off to safer places, and the civilian transport ships can now take off safely again. More >

SPOILER WARNING: HALO: REACH WALKTHROUGH for the EXODUS MISSION
“No KIAs?” Dr. Halsey murmured. She touched SPARTAN-034′s entry. “Sam is listed as missing in action. Why would that be? He died in 2525.”
“ONI Section Two Directive Nine-Three-Zero,” Cortana replied. “When ONI went public with the Spartan-II program it was decided that reports of Spartan losses could cause a crippling loss of morale. Consequently, any Spartan casualties are listed as MIA or WIA, in order to maintain the illusion that Spartans do not die.”

Halo Reach Aiming Tips – Headshooting, Go for the Gusto!
Sep 29th
As in all Halo games you can pull off headshots in Halo: Reach. One lesser known “secret” is that you don’t always have to use a zoom weapon to kill your opponent by shooting their head/face. “Headshooting” – aiming at the face and/or head area while spraying your enemy with ammo – will get the job done more quickly than aiming at the body, though you will use more ammo this way as compared to zoomed shots with, say, a Needle Rifle. While “shooting from the hip” aim for the head or face. Shooting from the hip = shooting with any projectile weapon without zoom by looking through the sights.
For example, if you are facing an Elite with a MA37 Assault Rifle shoot at his face instead of his body. You will eventually kill him with body shots, but aiming for the face gives you the chance for a “lucky headshots” in the middle of spraying that ammo across his face that do more damage and kill him more quickly. Yes, you may miss more often at first as many of your rounds zing over his shoulders, but with practice you will get better at it.
